Guitarist Mark Bilyeu and banjoist Cindy Woolf have been playing together for the better part of ten years, performing on the Americana/Folk and singer-songwriter circuit. They are a full-time duo in music and in life, having wed in 2013. Spring of 2015 finds them in the studio recording an album of traditional Ozarks’ songs, culled from the folksong collections of Max Hunter (from Springfield, Missouri, Mark’s home town) and John Quincy Wolf (from Batesville, Cindy’s home town); thus the title Wolf Hunter. This will be the first album from these two as a duo; Cindy has three CDs under her own name; Mark has one solo title plus the back catalogue from his previous work in Big Smith.

SeanFresh, the son of Pastor E.E. Clay-West and Alvin West, is a proud native of Little Rock, Arkansas. In the face of his substantial religious background, Sean was exposed to a very wide scope of music from the likes of Brian McKnight, Babyface, Madonna, 8 Ball and MJG, Otis Redding, The Isley Brothers, OutKast, and Fred Hammond. As a child, Sean grew up in area dominant in gang violence, and he would use his faith and music to escape the threatening world around him. Now the singer, songwriter, entertainer uses his sultry, charming vocals to enlighten the world through his alluring melodies. This year he will be releasing his ultimate musical experience called The Teshuvah Project; three albums telling a story of love, pain, and restoration, starting with FreshSeason.

Sean is also currently heading up fundraisers as the Marketing Director for Global Kids Arkansas (GKAR), which gives at-risk children hands on experience in foreign policy and global initiatives.

When asked who SeanFresh is, he replies “It’s simple. SeanFresh is just a church boy that loves to do R&B and Hip-Hop.”

RJ Mischo & His Red Hot Blues Band heat up Local Live tonight at South on Main

R.J. Mischo is an award-winning blues singer, harmonica player, and band leader. His music is a combination of originals and obscure gems that create an exciting mix of grooving boogies, bump & grind shuffles, and electric Chicago blues. Mischo is endorsed by Hohner Harmonicas and has nine albums out to date. He can also be heard on twenty-one additional CDs as a guest or on compilations with Jimmie Vaughan, James Cotton, G. Love, James Harman, Kim Wilson, Candye Kane, John Mayall, among others.

Mischo’s harmonica playing is on nationally-aired television commercials, as well as documentaries on the Discovery Channel and independent movie scores. He has contributed his harmonica expertise to two published harmonica instruction books, and has conducted workshops at music schools in the U.S., Europe, and Brazil.

In addition to fronting his own bands, Mischo has been hired in bands alongside Grammy Award-Winning Pinetop Perkins, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Jimmy Thackery, Earl Cate, Junior Watson, and more.

The Sea Nanners headline tonight’s Local Live at South on Main

Sea Nanners is a Little Rock band named after the handle of an acclaimed Call of Duty player. The group has expanded in the past year, adding four new members into their rotating door of a lineup. Their sound ranges from stadium rock to beach pop, with a focus on jaunty melodies and hip swinging rhythms. They are recording their first LP this winter in the hopes of a release in late spring /early summer 2015.  Band Members are Lee Petray, Brooks Tipton, Jonathan Jacobs, Michael Inscoe, Thom Asewicz, Clayton Scott Grubbs, Matthew Steel, and Phillip Rex Huddleston.

Bruce Johnston is a bassist and award-winning composer with a doctorate in music composition from the University of Miami. He is a lecturer at Ouachita Baptist University where he overseas the Classical Guitar and String Bass programs. Johnston has studied with the likes of jazz legends Donald Brown and Jerry Coker, and he can be seen around the region performing with Charlotte Taylor, Kim Griffin, and David Rosen, as well as a host of other great talents.

Tyndall Jackson is a thirty-year veteran of the delta region, and he holds a guitar performance degree and received the Outstanding Musicianship award as a student. He has toured extensively with his band, Mojo Depot, and was active in Los Angeles for ten years before moving back home to Little Rock. Jackson has a true gift of seamlessly connecting ideas with blazing speed that builds in ever-increasing intensity, and he is quickly becoming a local guitar legend.

Cliff Aaron is a seasoned professional drummer and the CEO/Founder of Drummerboyinfinity—dedicated to bringing attention and respect to the incredible musical talent that exists in the region. He grew up in central Arkansas and has performed, toured, and recorded with the likes of Beyonce, 311, and Victor Wooten. Aaron’s aggressive yet finessing approach to the drum set is incredibly unique and boundless; he creates sheets of sound that truly transcend the audience to a higher plane.
