Actor Robert Walden to speak at Clinton School today

WaldenAs part of the ongoing efforts of the Clinton School of Public Service to bring innovative and interesting programming, today at noon the school is hosting a forum on the power of film to effect change.

Robert Walden is an Emmy-nominated actor best known for his portrayal of the reporter Joe Rossi on the television series Lou Grant. As artistic director of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute Film Forum, Walden has assembled award-winning Hollywood professionals — directors, writers, teachers, coaches and actors — for three days of workshops, classes, panels and networking, March 21-24, at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain.

Arkansas filmmaker Tim Jackson will interview Walden at the Clinton School about his work with more than 40 Oscar nominees and winners and the unique power of film and television to effect change.

The program will take place at Sturgis Hall on the Clinton School campus at 12 noon.

Later this year, Walden will be starring in the Arkansas Rep’s production of Death of a Salesman.

Deadline Approaching for Arkansas Arts Summit Registration

The Arkansas Arts Council is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2012 Arkansas Arts Summit April 17-18 at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock. This intensive, two-day event will provide practical training for board members and arts administrators to help build and maintain art organizations and programs.

The Summit is presented by the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center.

Adventures in Art of Filmmaking on Petit Jean – March 8-11

The Winthrop Rockefeller Institute will host its first film forum called “Adventures in the Art of Filmmaking.’

The forum will be held March 8-11 at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain. It’s open to everyone, from film professionals, students, to enthusiasts.

The forum will bring together a long list of actors, directors, producers, screenwriters, and acting coaches including Robert Walden (Happily Divorced, “Lou Grant”), Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, “Caroline in the City”), director Howard Deutch (Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful), director and teacher Joan Darling (Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman; M*A*S*H; Mary Tyler Moore Show); acting coach and teacher Sandra Seacat; screenwriter Bill Svanoe (Six Million Dollar Man); Oscar-winning producer, Fred Roos (The Godfather Part II, Apocalypse Now), and documentarian Craig Renaud (On the Front Lines of Film Journalism), who founded The Little Rock Film Festival.

Those interested in taking part in “Adventures in Filmmaking” have four different pricing options.
