Little Rock chosen as 2020 Hottest Foodie City!

Little Rock has been named “America’s Next Hottest Foodie Destination 2020” by the Foodie Flashpacker blog. Little Rock won 39% of public votes, beating out 32 other cities from around the country including Walla Walla, WA, Albuquerque, NM, Dallas, TX and Minneapolis, MN.

No other city even came close to Little Rock!

Food and travel bloggers, and general public were invited to vote for Little Rock.  Voting started on December 16 and ran for a week.

This is easily the most popular event at any 2nd Friday Art Night site throughout the year.  There was a line out the door down the street all the way to the light at Cumberland.

Vote for Little Rock as a Foodie City!

Foodie Flashpacker polled top travel bloggers seeking their favorite food destinations. Little Rock has been nominated with 33 U.S. cities for America’s next hottest foodie destination.

Food and travel bloggers, and general public are invited to vote for Little Rock. The city with the most votes will be declared “America’s Next Hottest Foodie Destination 2020.”

Here are the rules: voting started today (12/16) at 9am CST and runs for one week.  You can cast one vote per day.

15th EVER Nog-Off takes place at Historic Arkansas Museum tonight!

Eggnog lovers everywhere, rejoice! It’s your favorite time of year!

The 15th Ever Nog-off, Historic Arkansas Museum’s friendly competition for the best eggnog in town, returns to bestow goodwill, joy, and a touch of whisky to all who gather.

Tonight, Friday the 13th!, from 5pm to 8pm at Historic Arkansas Museum.

Cleanse your palate and sharpen your pencil as you ready yourself to sample several festive eggnogs creatively prepared by local nog-ologists, and offer your critique and coveted vote. The nog with the most nods receives the People’s Choice Award.

Awards up for contention:

  • The Taster’s Choice Award – awarded by the celebrity panel of eggnog aficionados with this year’s judges being Ashlei King of Fox16, Rusty Mathis of Ben E. Keith Foods Mid-South and Kevin Shalin of The Mighty Rib
  • The People’s Choice Award – awarded to the eggnog as voted on by the evening’s attendees
  • The Not Your Great, Great, Great Grandfather’s Eggnog Award – awarded by attendees to the best “untraditional” eggnog
  • The Egg, No Nog Award – awarded to the best non-alcoholic eggnog as determined by a panel of “emerging tasters”

Holiday Open House and Sweet Potato Pie contest at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center

Celebrate the season with Mosaic Templars Cultural Center at the Holiday Open House!

The main attraction at Holiday Open House is the Say It Ain’t Say’s Sweet Potato Pie Contest. Both amateurs and professionals can compete to see whose pie is worthy to be in the same category as Robert “Say” McIntosh, a popular Little Rock restauranteur known for his generosity and his tasty sweet potato pie.

Those who can’t bake … eat! Guests get to sample the entries and vote for their favorites to win the People’s Choice Award.

There’s even more to enjoy at Holiday Open House, like musical performances and a family craft room!

Holiday Open House is free, but visitors are encouraged to bring a toy to donate to local children through Say’s Stop the Violence, a local nonprofit organization.

Hours are from 2pm to 5pm.
